Bantu Mzwakali Leaves Saudi Arabian Club

Former Premier Soccer League (PSL) player, Bantu Mzwakali, has parted ways with Saudi Arabian club, Al-Shaeib FC.

Last January, Mzwakali departed from Georgian outfit, Dila Gori, to join Al-Shaeib on a short-term contract. However, he did not make any appearances for the second division club during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.

According to sources, the 31-year-old midfielder has returned to South Africa, where he previously played for PSL outfits such as Ajax Cape Town, Chippa United and Bidvest Wits.

“He’s searching for a team because he’s a player that still has a lot to offer,” a source recently shared with a local soccer outlet. “We all know what Mzwakali can do, but I think he’s just been unfortunate with finding a good team with coaches who will believe in him.

“But another thing is that you know, in South Africa, when players are on the other side of 30 years, it becomes a bit difficult to get a contract.”

Will Mzwakali remain in South Africa, or could he find himself playing overseas again? As always, watch this space!
